Trivandrum, India - Tropical Granites was established in the year 1994 in Trivendrum, Kerala by the enterprising entrepreneur Mr. R. Sreedher. The company owns and operates a large green granite quarry in Ancode, Trivendrum. The quarry spread over a huge area of 20 acres has large proven deposits of excellent quality green granites. The mining operations are being carried out in a fully mechanized manner using the latest and best mining machineries and equipments to achieve consistent and large size marble blocks. Sophisticated material handling equipments have been deployed to ensure optimum and regular production. The quarry has been awarded the First Prize by the Department of Mines & Safety, Govt. of India, for its mining operations and Second Prize for providing proper protective equipments to its workers.
The company has built immense popularity for its premium quality product "TROPICAL GREEN" granite which is a most elegant and exclusive quality. This is a very special variety of granite which is available only in Kerala and is the most sought after green granite worldwide due to its richness of color, design, uniform pattern, consistency and unique quality.
The total annual turnover of the company is Rs.120 million, out of which the export turnover is Rs.75 million. It is thus evident that the major thrust of our sales is towards exports. The company is exporting its green granite blocks to Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Sweeden and USA.
The company has participated in International Stone Trade Fairs at Varona, Italy in 2002 as an exhibitor and also in STONA 2002 at Bangalore and STONE MART 2003 at Jaipur.
